Sommer Gaughan, MPH, RDN, is a Registered Dietitian, who has been in clinical practice for 22 years. Over 15 of those years have been dedicated to inborn errors of metabolism at Children’s Hospital Colorado. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Food Science & Human Nutrition from the University of Florida and is currently completing a graduate degree in Public Health focused on Health Promotion, Education and Behavior through the University of South Carolina. As a GMDI member she served 4 years as the secretary for the conference planning committee, an additional 4 years as a member of the conference planning committee and served as the GMDI Secretary from 2019-2021. She has participated in peer-reviewed publications, clinical trials and the development of patient focused educational tools and programs. She is passionate about educating and learning from others on the nutritional management of inborn errors of metabolism
